Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the CourtGigs platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access or use our Service.
Important: These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and CourtGigs. Please read them carefully before using our platform.
Description of Service
CourtGigs is a platform that connects attorneys seeking per diem coverage ("Requesting Attorneys") with qualified attorneys available to provide court appearance coverage ("Per Diem Attorneys"). We facilitate these connections but do not directly provide legal services.
- CourtGigs is a technology platform connecting legal professionals
- We facilitate bookings but are not a party to the attorney-client relationship
- Per diem attorneys are independent contractors, not employees of CourtGigs
- We provide tools for communication, payment processing, and scheduling
User Accounts
To use certain features of our Service, you must register for an account. When you register, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
- Maintain and promptly update your account information
- Maintain the security of your password and account credentials
- Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.
Terms for Requesting Attorneys
When you use CourtGigs to find per diem coverage, you agree to the following:
Booking Requirements
- Provide accurate and complete information about each appearance
- Share all necessary case materials with the assigned attorney
- Confirm the scope of the attorney's authority for each appearance
Payment Obligations
- Payment is required before the scheduled appearance date
- You are responsible for all fees associated with your bookings

Terms for Per Diem Attorneys
When you accept gigs through CourtGigs, you agree to the following:
Professional Requirements
- Maintain an active bar license in good standing in all jurisdictions where you appear
- Maintain current professional liability (malpractice) insurance
- Comply with all applicable rules of professional conduct
Service Commitments
- Appear at all scheduled appearances on time and prepared
- Submit detailed appearance reports by 6:00 PM same day
- Maintain confidentiality of all case information
Cancellation Policy
Free Cancellation
Cancellations made by 6:00 PM the business day before the scheduled appearance are eligible for a full refund.
Late Cancellation
Cancellations made after 6:00 PM the business day before are non-refundable. The full rate applies.

Prohibited Activities
You may not use our Service to:
- Engage in any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Provide false or misleading information in your profile or bookings
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent our payment system
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users of the platform
- Use the platform to solicit users outside of CourtGigs
- Interfere with the proper working of the Service
- Attempt to access data or accounts not intended for you
Limitation of Liability
CourtGigs is a technology platform that facilitates connections between attorneys. We are not responsible for the quality, legality, or outcome of legal services provided by per diem attorneys on our platform.
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- CourtGigs provides the Service "as is" without warranties of any kind
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding any claim
- We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of per diem attorneys
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CourtGigs, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third party right, including any intellectual property right or privacy right; or (d) any claim that your use of the Service caused damage to a third party.
Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through the following process:

Informal Resolution
Contact our support team first. We'll work to resolve the issue within 30 days.

Mediation
If informal resolution fails, the parties agree to participate in mediation.

Arbitration
Disputes not resolved through mediation shall be settled by binding arbitration in Los Angeles, California.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on our platform at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding relating to your access to or use of the Service shall be instituted in a court of competent jurisdiction in Los Angeles County, California.
